As one of the few blacksmithing couples in the U.K, Kyle and Thea bring a balance of design to the table; each having their own identity and creative style, but combining the subtleties of masculine and femininity into each project. Their work pushes the boundaries between the beauty found in art, and the functionality found in craft. Creating something that not only serves a purpose, but in itself is a totally bespoke art form. Working from tiny intricate pieces; to eye catching large scale designs, they strive for beautiful bespoke metalwork. Whether this be for the home, in the garden, or for the public eye.
Kyle Kyle trained in Blacksmithing and Metalwork at Plumpton College in Sussex between 2007 and 2009, He then continued his studies at Hereford Technical College on the NETS course, all the while working for artist blacksmith Ricky Delaney. During this time he achieved the Paul Allen award, and the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths’ Certificate of Merit. Having completed his apprenticeship, he then went on to set up his own business, and was asked back to Plumpton College as a course lecturer.
Thea Thea joined Swann Forge as an artist blacksmith, having also trained in Blacksmithing and Metalwork at Plumpton College. While there, she won the Michael Bloomstien award for her jewellery piece, and has been accepted into Holts jewellery academy in Hatton Gardens.
